Open Casting Call Q&A

We know a lot of you are excited for our 2012 Casting Call and some of you asked some questions. I want to take the time to answer some of those questions here so you’re better prepared. If you have anymore questions, feel free to email me:

Q: What kind of models are you looking for?

Our commercial clients need many different types of people for many different types of projects. Sometimes I need talent to portray a local family, sometimes I need a young mainland couple visiting Hawaii, sometimes I need an asian couple staying at a hotel. The goal of the casting call is to expand our repertoire of models to fulfill those needs.

Q: Are you looking for experienced models?

Not just experienced models should apply. I’d love to discover fresh faces that are unsigned. In the past, we’ve had success working with people who had great potential and they started a modeling career as a result. So any and all experience levels may apply!

Q: How much do you pay?

Each client’s budget is different, but payment for talent is based off of Screen Actor Guild’s standard rate of around $150/day. The added compensation and incentive to being a Firebird model is we offer you free headshots when you need them, which is valuable for building your professional portfolio.

Q: What do I need to bring to the casting call?

Wear comfortable clothing (tanktop, shorts, etc.) and be prepped for a quick headshot. Bring a pen and be prepared to be interviewed. Bring any drinks or snacks you may need while you wait.

Q: What if I can’t make the casting call dates?

Email us and we could schedule a meeting on the side, but that’s not guaranteed. We’re always busy so we try to schedule things well in advance.
