Sex in the 50s
I shot these photos for Hyphen Magazine, but they didn’t use them. They actually never replied back to me and then next thing I know the issue was published without my images — oh well.
These photos were for their “sex” issue, which I was hesitant to do unless I had a solid idea. I didn’t want to do anything gratuitous. I wanted to do something that was very much my unique mix of vintage and camp. I researched old magazine advertisements and thought of ways to parody them. My final idea was to do a sexy spin on Tupperware parties of the 50’s and 60’s, except with model sex toys on display.
I’m showing you these images because I’m proud of them. It’s another example of how my vintage style can be used to sell/illustrate anything 😉

I would say that maybe it was a little too risque for them, but then I saw their latest cover issue. I think you did a good job. Someone will want the photos, so keep looking.
